RESEARCH

How do you achieve alignment in design?
Alignment can be simple or complex and is commonly achieved with the use of a grid. A grid can create an invisible structure on which visual elements can be placed on. These grids can ensure accurate alignment and consistency in a large piece of design work.

1. Exploring your tool
2. improving your cratf
3. Refining your taste
4. Finding your voice
5.Discovering your style

PROCESS

This time, we mainly based on the suggestions of our client and Miss Lilian as well as our coursemate for further optimization. What we get from the client is positive feedback and their satisfaction. We also improved and optimised the feedback and suggestions given to us by the tutorial section Miss Lilian.

Packaging continuous design:

Fig. First edition

Fig. Second edition

The second version of oat adds an outline based on the first version. Although it has the same outline as other elements, there are still differences in style, which is too realistic.

Fig. Final edition

The first and second version are more realistic, while the third version makes the image of the oat rounded and cute, making it more suitable for our brand and design style.

Fig. Two edition of oat element

From the comparison of these two OATs, we can clearly see the different styles between them, while our group thinks that the one on the right is more in line with our theme and tonality.

Additional: Cooler Bag

The mascot used by cooler bag is our main mascot, and then there are some small characters around mascot, and the color tone is consistent with our website and main color. The handle is yellow, which is a prominent color in our color scheme.

FEEDBACK

Week 10
- Britney said, the website is nice, it gives her a playful feel of the whole product and the ice cream and mascot as well. The mascot is cute, the packaging design is very well and what could be seen in the grocery store
- June said she liked the mascot design and the packaging. Just goes as packaging alone, and she sees in the market she would actually buy because the design is really attractive to her.
- Miss Lilian said is very consistent, working together very well and organised. It would be good if we introduce the slides with an intro your client and the product itself before jumping into the deliverables.
- There is a lot of work involved, and each of your team member contributed very well.
- There seems to be overall a little bit miss align, in term of the art direction in certain deliverables u can see the art direction is very strong, but when some of these same elements are introduced into other deliverables maybe you all have to really look into the art direction and tidy up a little bit.
-Stack up idea's illustration is too serious, but the final is still a bit miss alignment with your graphic elements.

Week 11
- consider feedback by our peers and Miss Lilian
- solidify and standardised the mascot because of line quality and form, make sure it is tidy up a little bit
- promotional video can try to utilise the colour of the brand
-oat graphic is a little bit off, because the oat graphic is realistic, and everything else that you all have is fun, rounded, approachable
- the art style of element is a bit inconsistent.

REFLECTION

Experience
This time, we mainly modify and adjust several parts. This time, the workload is the smallest, and the changes we made are also more detailed parts, so as to complete all the details that we had no time to imagine before and make the whole project more unified in style. In the final stage, I personally feel that it is relatively easy, because we have finished the main tone, just making some modifications and improvements, and the final effect is also satisfactory to me.

Observation
In this task, because only some relevant parts have been modified, only the
team members who are responsible for this part have made great contributions, while the workload of the team members who are not responsible for the relevant parts will be less, and this time the division of labour is uneven. But this is understandable because the responsible parts are different, some parts of the extension will inevitably need the relevant team members to be responsible for the production, and the workload will inevitably be unbalanced. The adjustment that can be made is that the team members who are in charge of fewer parts can voluntarily do some administrative work, such as the selection of slides templates, or take the initiative to ask other team members how they can help.

Findings
The final outcome and style is in line with our brand tonality as a whole, lovely and lively. And our products are mainly what consumers will be willing to consume on a whim, because ice cream itself is a very attractive product. If we add soul and excellent packaging and marketing, consumers will be more willing and faster to make a purchase decision.
