AdTypo_4_Designing Type
The purpose :"The goal of this new typeface was create a clean,
distinctive and legible typeface that is easy to see from both close
up and far away"
This book tell the story of the typeface Univers and its creator.
Adrian Frutiger received many honors. "at the university in the hoy city
of India". He had designed a new Devanagari font from modern typesetting
and printing processes at the request of the Indian Design
Institude.

4. Testing
Testing is an important component in the design thinking process. The
result of the testing is part of the process of refining and correcting
aspects of the typeface. Prototyping is also part of the testing process
and leads to important feedback.
5. Deploy
Even after deploying a completed typeface there are always teething problems that did not come to the fore during the prototyping and testing phases. Thus, the task of revision doesn't end upon deployment.

Roman Capital : The grid consists of a square, and inside it a circle
that just touches the lines of the square in four places. Within the
square, there is also a rectangle. This rectangle is three quarters the
size of the square and is positioned in the centre of the square.
Task 2A - Key Artwork
we can use the initial letters of our name or full name. Explore and compose as many permutations and combinations of these initials. The final key artwork must be an elegant solution, not complicated or confusing that leads to a functional and communicable key artwork.

Sketches
Fig 4. Various logo designs, week 6 (5/5/2022)
In this task, I didn't specify what style and direction I should take
at the beginning. I followed my own thoughts and working process,
looked for inspiration from the referenced works, and then made my own
logo. So below you can see many different versions and designs, some
of which are slowly extended and modified one by one, and some of
which are not even related to each other.
Logo Design 1
The first inspiration comes from two crossed hands with different
positions, which shows that different positions of hands present
different fonts.
Logo Design 2
The second design idea comes from calligraphy font, because the strokes
of calligraphy font are consistent and there are some differences in
thickness, so I apply this feature to the design of logo design 2. This
font feature is applied to the leftmost part of Figure 8. Although the
second one has nothing to do with calligraphy, the origin of the idea
comes from calligraphy.
The above is the generation process of this logo. I think the
magic thing is that the original inspiration of the three letters
is calligraphy characters. I tried different ways of placing them,
and then suddenly I found "Ohh, why are they look like a snail".
Then through several times of shaping, it makes him look more like
a snail.
In this design, I mainly want to integrate all three letters into
one, into a figure or something. Then in the process of
adjustment, I adjusted some spacing between letters, and then
found that the right part of the logo looked like a woman with
long hair, and then added a dot as a woman's eyes. The one at the
bottom is the result of ignoring the "human-like" feature and then
modifying and adjusting the shape.
It is the one with the most letters in all designs, but my
personal success lies in the fact that these words are spelled
together without feeling complicated and messy. I vaguely saw a
butterfly in this design, which I thought was very
interesting. Maybe this could be a brand or activity logo about
beauty or girls. Although the above shows the process and final
result of my design modification,
I also think that any one in the modification process has the
potential to become the final logo, so it is not only the final result that is the result, but also
a good logo design in the process.
Fig 11. Logo design 5, week 6 (6/5/2022)
The above four show the four letters and designs used in this series of logo. The font design of this group is mainly thin and sharp, and I also added some rounded convex parts. I think because this font has a very elegant and capable feeling, it will have a great effect when put together.
Logo Design 6
Fig 12. Logo design 6, week 6 (6/5/2022)
This one uses two repeated letters "J" and "Y", and then each rotates
90 degrees to arrange. I have tried to switch the middle point, using
square and circle respectively. Although it is a slight adjustment, it
still has a different expression and effect for the presentation of
the whole logo. I think this logo is quite interesting. There is a
symbol similar to a plus sign in the middle, which can represent the
logo of some medical products or medical stations. It also gives
people the illusion of a hotel logo.
Logo Design 7
Fig 13. Inspiration of logo design 7, week 6 (6/5/2022)
Fig 14. Logo design 7, week 6 (6/5/2022)
I refer to the feeling of street graffiti for this logo, and want
to present that effect. These are some of my attempts. I think if
this is to be presented as a logo and represent the whole theme,
it still needs more exploration and research. What I'm doing at
present is still superficial exploration, and it can't be called a
qualified logo design. But it is also a different attempt for me,
and the overall effect is satisfactory. I also tried to make some
patterns with them, as shown in the picture above.
Fig 15. Logo design 8, week 6 (6/5/2022)
I think this design actually looks like the logo of a beverage
store, with the images of straws and cups in these letters. I think
this is my design with objects and characters in it, and I think
they are well combined. Although this logo is relatively simple in
font design, it is a line of the same thickness. But its emphasis is
on the connection and penetration between words and objects. I think
this is mainly the design concept of this logo. There is no
exaggeration or special font design, but the emphasis is on the
feature that words are connected into objects.
Final chosen logo
Fig 16. Final chosen logo, week 6 (7/5/2022)
I tried different colours and effects. I think they look like
colourful maltose, as well as the texture and luster of steel.
I added the glitter effect on the level of metallic texture to make it
look more like shiny steel.
we are tasked to design a poster, an animated invite and three other
collateral items of our choosing, using the key artwork developed in
Task 2(A).
1. Poster

Fig 20. Combination pattern of logo with colours
The following is an effect that I tried to copy the logo, then paste them together by rotation, and then make them look like a graphic or can act as a background. Here are some results I have produced.

Fig 24. Poster layout 4 ,week 7 (14/5/2022)
I think this fits the theme of "Summer Music Festival". To think of
summer is to think of the hot sun, and then you need a drink that
can quench your thirst. Based on this idea, a poster that looks like
orange juice in summer was designed. Through this way (colour, image
of orange juice), readers' interest was first aroused, and then the
content of the music festival was read.

2. Animated invite
Use this special effect to show their special effects disturbed by
signals, and then finally show a decomposed state, which can be seen in
the second-fifth second of the film.

I want to add some sound effects to animated invite to match the
scene switching and set off the atmosphere.

FEEDBACK
Week 6
Hari Raya Holiday
Week 7
General Feedback :flap and tail in one logo will make the logo unstable, make it function as a logo and also an artwork. Design font. movement space, crafting, flow are important kind of create a good fond and artwork. When introduce the colour, not necessary to use all the colour palette ,can use in poster. Need to be solid and stand, colour must not be a lot
Specific Feedback : first row second one is interesting, overall all good and if you want to use the left bottom one should revise its line and shape make it more consistency.

REFLECTION
Experience
2 Task is very fun for me. I feel fun when designing the logo, and I also enjoy constantly innovating and designing my own label. It's different from the mood of doing other homework. This time, I feel that I'm designing for myself, and I will think more about what I like, rather than meeting other people's requirements. In the initial stage of logo design, that is, when designing my own logo, I made a lot of designs in different versions and styles, and I always wanted to design a logo that I was satisfied with. At first, I was really anxious not to design my ideal logo, which just proved the saying "everything is difficult at the beginning", but after designing the logo, I felt much more relaxed. Poster and mockup are the contents of task2B. Poster is the same task that we often do, but every time we do it, I feel that I have learned new knowledge. mockup is my first attempt, and at first I thought it would be difficult, but after watching the instructional videos online, I feel that it is not as difficult as I thought.
Observation
I have observed that there are actually many ways to express myself, and a symbolic logo is a good example. It is really not easy to design a work that fits itself and the theme, and it needs a lot of inspiration and constant improvement to achieve the desired effect. I think there is still room for improvement in the animation part. I think the reason why I can improve is that the skills I used are all new skills that I learned in previous semester, and this time I haven't explored yet.

Finding
I found that to make a good logo is not only aesthetic, but also
requires a lot of information to combine the product with the design,
and finally make a satisfactory work. Besides, it is especially
important to refer to various works of different styles, because design
is an industry that keeps pace with the times, and people are innovating
and creating new aesthetics every day, so it is very important and
helpful to constantly update their knowledge of aesthetics and design.
Some things are not learned at the moment, but can be applied to design
at the moment. It is through many accumulations that one gradually forms
one's own style and concept. I think this is a criterion that designers
should achieve.

A study of a typeface’s possible weight variants can be
extremely helpful for publications such as magazines
that need to combine different typefaces for headings,
strap lines, main text, captions, pull quotes, and so on.
Three typeforms from the Markant typeface exemplify how similar
proportions and features can be integrated within the constraints of
each writing model (italic and upright Latin and Greek)
