-Critical writing is a process that involves using a range of writing
skills as well as personal qualities
Critical thinking is always:
-Persistent: constantly reviewing the evidence
-Sceptical:'hermeneutic of suspicion'
-Looking ahead: what are the implications of this?

-Stepping back from immediate personal feelings
-Examining data from different angles
-Checking the accuracy of information
-Checking the logic of the argument
-Looking for possible flaws in argument
-Understanding why other empirical data
-Checking statistics and other empirical data
-Checking undeclared assumptions
-Reaching informed conclusions
Writing a literature review
A literature review differs from an article review in that it involves
writing about several writers’ ideas, rather than evaluating a single
article.
How to organise the review
You could group by:
• main themes
• methodology
• theories
• types of study
• main writers in the field
• chronology (i.e. development of theories over the years)
(based on Cone & Foster 1993, p. 108, and Leedy & Ormrod 2005, p.
79)
**Remember to state your goals clearly in the introduction, and address
them again in the
conclusion.**

REFLECTION
To be honest, I was really unmotivated when I started writing, because I am not a person who likes writing. But for the sake of score, I persisted and finished it. Even though I didn't like it, I still hope I can do my best to finish it, and don't regret it when I look back later. The process of writing and reading was rather painful at first, because I didn't spend so much time and energy reading academic articles for a long time, but after I gradually entered the state, I didn't resist reading articles so much.
