This time, we will be coming up with a HORROR themed comic.
Project requirements:
Must be published at webtoons.com
Story must have 3-acts structure
Min. 30 - Max. 50 panels
Illustrations (stick man drawing is not an illustration) can either be coloured or greyscale or screentone shaded render
must be PG-13 and SAFE FOR WORK

The theme of this task is horror. Honestly，I seldom watch scary movies and stories, but I think this is a good breakthrough for myself！I'm going to make a suspense horror story. Then there are themed scenes and characters. I'm going to make a Chinese-themed story, briefly describing two adventurous boys who arrive at a different place and then encounter strange things. This is my initial idea and concept.
Initial Webtoon Story
James and his good friend Sam are camping in the mountains. At night, they camped beside the cave. They accidentally found a beam of light flashing in the cave. Sam insisted on going in to find out. James dissuaded him from it.
After Sam's entreaties, James decided
to accompany him in and have a look. When they entered the cave, they
were all stunned. Inside the cave stood a Chinese luxury tavern in the
1980s. The design is very retro, unlike the architectural design of
this era. Sam carefully walked to the door, put his ear close to the
door, and wanted to listen to the situation inside. There was a lively
noise inside, with customers talking and laughing, and the bartender's
reception, which was very lively.
Bold Sam pushed the door open, and it
was resplendent and magnificent. The design was like a luxury Chinese
hotel in 1980s. The bartender ran out to entertain them
enthusiastically, and they naturally let go of their bad feelings. The
bartender followed him to the box. Because urgency of
micturition,
James asked the bartender where the toilet was, and the bartender
offered to take him there. After
the bartender and James left, Sam saw a lithe and graceful woman in cheongsam passing by, so he
accosted her and invited her to have a drink together. The woman
stroked Sam's neck with the silk scarf on her hand, and suddenly
strangled Sam's neck. Sam struggled to break free. In the blink of an
eye, He found himself tied around his neck with a piece of white
cloth, suspended in mid-air.
The splendid tavern in front of him instantly turned into a gloomy
space. The woman turned into a terrible face, pale, dull eyes, yellow
teeth and blood on her face.
On the way to the toilet, James passed
by an altar, and found that there was something strange about the
smoke and smell of incense scattered on the altar. When he smelled it
close, it was roofies.
The bartender saw that he was going to be exposed, his face suddenly
turned pale and blood flowed from his eyes, ready to sneak up on
James from behind. James turned around and escaped the bartender's
attack, and the bartender fell to the ground. James took the
opportunity to escape.
James shouted Sam's name as he ran, but got no response.
James ran back to the original
private room and saw Sam hanging in mid-air. James took out his self-defence knife, cut the cloth, and saved Sam who was dying. James lit the
lighter, and collapsed Sam asked him why he lit the lighter. James explained that if they go into a place where there are roofies,
the smoke of the roofies will cause the lighter go out, so they should
be vigilant.
They stumbled out of the tavern and returned to the camping tent.
Two people breathed a sigh of relief, two people were injured, lying
in the tent and fell asleep. At this time, give the candles in the
tent a close-up, and the candles went out. The scene switches to the
tavern, where Sam is still hanging there.
…End …
(the end indicates that James are still in hallucination, James
haven't actually escaped.
Moreover, Sam beside him is also his illusion. The real Sam is still
hanging in the tavern without breathing.)

Remove the last 2 paragraphs, they are kinda flat, instead end the story with both of them end up being permanent residents at the hotel.

Reflection
I think this is the most challenging task of the whole semester. From the conception to the final animation presentation, each one is training me different skills and knowledge. Every link, from conceiving a story to drawing a draft, then to continuous changes later until satisfactory typesetting, then to practice in ai. In this process, there are many different ideas and presentation ways in my mind, which test my logical thinking and creativity, and also my painting skills. The scene of each picture reflects the expression of the characters, and it is necessary to think about how to express it in the least language, so that readers can read the story with their eyes. This is also the part of the whole task where I spend the most time. There is the process of turning webtoon into motion comic. This is also a great test of my organizational ability and creativity. How to make the still picture lively and interesting, and how to connect it to make the story not dull. This process is very interesting. I really enjoy this step of making animation and adding sound effects, which instantly makes my webtoon better and more advanced.
